Fruit Salad and a Pinch of Creativity
It’s a warm summer's day and Tina and Tom are making a refreshing fruit salad.
“So, to make a perfect fruit salad, you need to be a little bit creative … Let’s see … What do we have here on the table? Well, I think we’ve got more than enough tasty fruit to work with here! What shall we start with, Tom?”
“Hmmm … I'd say the cherries are my favourite, so I’ll start by washing them. Why don't you cut the pineapple into rings?”
“Okie dokie, let’s get to work.”
They remove the stones from the cherries with a knife and cut the pineapple into rings. Then, Tom removes the seeds from the grapes, and Tina carefully peels the apples.
“Wow, it takes longer than I thought to make a fruit salad,” says Tom.
Once the cherries, the pineapple, the apples, and the grapes are ready, they make a start on the huge watermelon in the middle of the table.
“This is really big, Tom, you should let me cut it,” says Tina.
“Ok, but can I have a slice? I love watermelon!”
“Of course! There’s enough for everyone.“
Now it’s time for them to add the banana and the strawberries.
“Alrighty then, the banana and strawberries are in. Now, let’s finish off with a squeeze of lemon juice and some orange juice. And, last but not least, my secret ingredient—a pinch of cinnamon,” says Tina.
“But what about the coconut, Tina?”
“I almost forgot! Let’s add it now.”
“This is gonna be the best fruit salad ever!”
