Mum: Olivia, you’re wearing my high heels again! They’re much too big for you, you’re going to trip over and hurt yourself.
Olivia: Fine. I’ll take them off. When are we going to see Grandma? I want to bake a cake!
Mum: We’re going now, put on your socks, please. We’re late.
Olivia: Can I wear my tights instead?
Mum: Yes, but they don’t go on your head, silly!
Olivia: Which shoes should I wear? Oh, can I wear my sandals?
Mum: It’s raining outside, you’ll be cold if you wear sandals. Put your boots on—or better yet, put your wellies on. I’ll put mine on too and we can jump in puddles together.
Olivia: But I want to wear my new green shoes, they match my green tights!
Mum: Olivia, you’re driving me crazy! But fine, you can wear the green ones. Do you need help with your shoelaces?
Olivia: No, I can do it by myself.
Mum: Good girl.
Olivia: Mummy, whose socks are those?
Mum: They were yours when you were a baby! I found them in the cupboard.
Olivia: No way, they are so small!
Mum: I know, your feet were so tiny, but you’re a big girl now.
Olivia: I don’t believe you. I’m going to ask Grandma.
Mum: Fine by me, let’s go!
