The New Hairdresser
A new hairdresser set up shop in our neighbourhood recently. Yesterday I went there for the first time, because I wanted a special hairstyle for a party I was planning to attend.
First, the hairdresser washed my hair. Because I have such long hair, she needed to use a lot of shampoo and it took quite a while. Meanwhile, I entertained myself by watching the other customers. One customer’s husband stood in front of a mirror, brushing his bald head with a brush. Next to me, a mother was desperately trying to take a pair of scissors away from her little daughter, who had just cut off one of her two ponytails.
“What kind of hairdresser’s shop is this?!” I wondered. And when the hairdresser put in my curlers and placed the hood dryer over my head, I was a little scared about how the result might turn out. Maybe I was going to end up with an old-lady hairdo! I certainly didn’t want that.
But the hairdresser surprised me. She used the comb to style waves and then took the hair-dryer and fixed everything up nicely. In the end, the hairstyle looked fantastic!
In conclusion, even though the other customers were somewhat strange, I would definitely recommend the new hairdresser to everyone.
