A Haunted House
I’ve lived in this house ever since I was born. My friend Mark thinks it’s creepy. He thinks my house is haunted and that a ghost lives here. I have never seen one, but Mark is sure. He is so scared of the ghost that when he comes over to play, he waits for me in front of the garage. He won’t come up the stairs, or even touch the bannister. What a scaredy-cat!
Mark is convinced that my family lives under the same roof as a ghost called Casper. He says that Casper comes in and out of the house through the chimney.
They say that Casper died of boredom a long time ago. Now he spends his days scaring people from our neighbourhood. I don’t believe that he exists but Mark always tries to convince me that he is real.
He blames Casper for all sorts of things that happen in our neighbourhood. Not long ago, Mark was on the way to my house. He was skating down the street when suddenly, Casper appeared in the window. Mark was so scared that he covered his eyes and because he couldn’t see anymore he skated into the postman, who was putting letters in our letterbox. The postman fell over bumping against our doorbell on the way. And when I opened the door, I saw the poor postman on the ground surrounded by letters. Mark wouldn’t uncover his eyes. He said that Capser would be sitting up there on the gutter laughing at us.
Poor Mark! He sees ghosts, but he’s also very clumsy.
