Was ist der Unterschied zwischen actually und currently?

Oft kommt es zu Verwechslungen zwischen actually und currently, da das Wort actually ein „falscher Freund“ ist und nichts mit dem deutschen Wort „aktuell“ zu tun hat. Für die Bedeutung „aktuell“ können wir u. a. das Adverb currently verwenden.

Das Adjektiv actual und das Adverb actually bedeuten auf Deutsch „real“/„wirklich“/„tatsächlich“/„eigentlich“.

Beispiel:: He plays a lot of fantasy football, and the imaginary team always wins. But his actual football team loses every match.Er spielt in Gedanken oft Fußball und seine Fantasie-Mannschaft gewinnt immer. Seine tatsächliche Fußballmannschaft verliert aber jedes Spiel.

Wir verwenden actual und actually häufig, um über Überraschendes zu sprechen oder Fehler zu korrigieren.
