Die beiden Adjektive happy und lucky werden oft verwechselt. Sie haben unterschiedliche Bedeutungen, die wir hier näher beleuchten.
William: Why do you look so happy?
Alphie: I’m going to ask Paige to the school dance.
William: She’s very popular, you’ll be lucky if she even says hello to you.
Alphie: That’s why I’m wearing my lucky hat!

Happy
- happy = fröhlich/zufrieden/glücklich
- Beispiel:
- You look so happy.Du siehst so fröhlich aus.
- I’m happy for you.Ich freue mich für dich.
- Für happy gibt es viele Synonyme, wie etwa content, pleased, joyful, cheerful, glad.
- Beispiel:
- You look so pleased.Du siehst so fröhlich aus.
Lucky
- lucky = vom Glück begünstigt
- Beispiel:
- You’ll be lucky if she says hello.Du hast Glück, wenn sie Hallo sagt.
- lucky + Nomen = ein Gegenstand, der Glück bringt

- I’m wearing my lucky hat!Ich trage meinen Glückbringerhut!
