Future Simple (going to)

Introduzione

In inglese il Future Simple formato con going to si utilizza per esprimere una conseguenza logica o azione futura preparata o programmata da tempo.

Esempio

Mrs Lucky is going to meet a friend in town.

She has just looked out of the window. The sky is blue – it is not going to rain. So Mrs Lucky is going to leave her umbrella at home.

Quando si usa?

  • per esprimere azioni future preparate o programmate da tempo
    Esempio:
    Mrs Lucky is going to meet a friend in town.Mrs Lucky (La signora Felice) incontrerà un amico/un'amica in città.
  • per esprimere conseguenze logiche che riguardano il futuro
    Esempio:
    The sky is blue - it is not going to rain. So Mrs Lucky is going to leave her umbrella at home.Il cielo è azzurro - non pioverà. Quindi Mrs Lucky lascierà il suo ombrello a casa.

Come si forma?

Utilizziamo be + going to e il verbo nella forma base.

Nota

La forma breve di are può essere utilizzata solo dopo i pronomi e non dopo altri tipi di parole.

Esempio:
They’re meeting in town.
(ma non: The women’re meeting in town.)
