Present Perfect Simple

Introduzione

Beispiel

James loves football and plays very well. He has bought new trainers and now he plays even better than before.

James is the team captain because he has never lost a match.

It looks like his team will win this match as well. James has just scored a goal and the referee has not blown the final whistle yet. The other team has not scored a goal so far.

Quando si usa?

  • Quando si esprimono azioni appena terminate.
    Esempio:
He has just scored a goal.
    Esempio:
He has bought new trainers and now he plays even better than before.
    Esempio:
He has never lost a match.Non ha mai perso una partita.
The referee has not blown the final whistle yet.L'arbitro non ha ancora dato il fischio finale.
The other team has not scored a goal so far.L'altra squadra non ha segnato nessun goal fino ad adesso.

Forma affermativaForma negativaForma interrogativa
I/you/we/they I have played/spoken I have not played/spoken Have I played/spoken?
he/she/it he has played/spoken he has not played/spoken Has he played/spoken?

Past Participle

    Esempio:
    travel – travelled (inglese britannico)
    traveled (inglese americano)
  • y a fine parola viene sostituita da i.
    Esempio:
    hurry – hurried

Forma lungaForma breveEsempio
have …’ve they’ve
have not …’ve not/… haven’t I’ve not/I haven’t
has …’s she’s
has not …’s not/… hasn’t he’s not/he hasn’t

Nota

Nello scritto utilizziamo la forma breve di have solo dopo i pronomi.

Esempio:
They’ve not played football.
(ma non: The girls’ve not played football.)

Esempio:
He’s/The boy's played football.
(ma non: James’s played football.)

Indicatori

  • already, just, not yet
  • ever, never
  • so far, till now, up to now

Nota

Gli indicatori just, already e yet vengono impiegati in modo diverso.

Esempio:
Have you read this book yet?
Yes, I’ve just read it.Hai già letto il libro?

Already s'impiega esclusivamente nelle proposizioni affermative. Nelle proposizioni negative o interrogative invece si usa yet.

Esempio:
Have you read this book yet?
Yes, I’ve already read it./ No, I haven't read it yet.Hai già letto il libro?
Si, l'ho già letto./No, non l'ho ancora letto.
